BBC 500 Words 2014 – submit a story or support this year’s entrants

Calling all librarians, teachers, school head teachers and of course all pupils keen to write a creative story the BBC’s 500 words 2014 competition, which is getting underway.

The new children’s laureate, Malorie Blackman, is visiting schools to share her own thoughts and there’s lots of tips online.

In two age groups nine years old and under and 10-13 year olds it is a chance for young people to have their story read out on the radio, be chosen as one of this year’s winners to go the Hay Festival and the authors of the winning entries can earn the author their height in books!
