What merely began as a hobby 6 years ago, has become an essential part of school-ware for children and teachers around the UK. Wise Owl Aprons, a new range of aprons and tabards recently launched by UK Aprons Ltd is designed for school children and teaching staff.
Wise Owl Aprons which was launched earlier this year offers a variety of aprons in PVC aswell as poly cotton fabrics.
The business was started by husband and wife Andrew and Jenny Branscombe. Their goal was to work with the educational sector to make school aprons more durable and longer lasting, compared to some of the overseas alternatives which can be of a much cheaper quality.
UK Aprons has become a national brand over the years with many of their orders coming online through their Wise Owl Aprons website.
Customers can order with a purchase order by email and pay on account, or buy their aprons directly through the website where they can choose from the many variety of colours and styles. The aprons are designed for all age groups from the age of 3 right the way up to adult sizes. With adjustable halter necks and fastening clips to tighten at the waist, these aprons have proved to be convenient and less intrusive, avoiding annoying tangles and knotting.
Before the quick rise of the company, Andrew and Jenny were helped greatly by local company E Badges. As orders quickly began to increase for Andrew and Jenny they realised that running this type of business from home was unsustainable. Amongst other help and advice offered by E Badges, they were more than happy to help with UK Aprons' storage needs allowing them space in their own warehouse facility for a while. UK Aprons use hard wearing fabrics suitable for any classroom environment, with the poly cotton apron being machine washable and the PVC version which can be simply wiped clean. As well as coming in various colours and sizes, all aprons can be customised by adding school logos or crests giving them a bespoke finish.
Andrew and Jenny have created a business from a hobby and are going from strength to strength as a company with future plans to expand into other sectors such as catering amongst others.
